CREAMLINE head coach Sherwin Meneses cemented his legacy as the PVL’s winningest coach with his 100th victory since taking over the reins from Tai Bundit in 2022.
His 100th win came in Game 1 of the PVL All-Filipino quarterfinals as the Cool Smashers demolished the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in straight sets.

His win rate? 86.97 percent — equal to just 15 losses in 10 conferences.
In five years as a club team coach, Meneses was a former Creamline deputy and lead shot-caller for now-defunct Generika Ayala Lifesavers in the Philippine Superliga (PSL).
While hitting the 100-win benchmark made him feel quite old, Meneses, 42, also felt hungrier to rack up more wins to his name as the league’s first-ever centurion coach.
“Medyo nagkaka-edad na pero masaya na na-achieve ko yung 100 (wins). Sana mas marami pang dumating, especially this season, this conference, madagdagan yung mga panalo pa sa next games namin,” Meneses said.
“Yung (present) situation na nandyan palagi, yun lang yung pinaghahandaan talaga namin. Yung past kasi, nandyan yan pero naka-focus kami sa future, sa mga next games. Du’n lang naman ako nagfo-focus palagi.
“Hopefully, magtuloy-tuloy pa at mag-improve pa yung mga teams na nahahawakan ko [at] kailangan yung chemistry ng coaches at players is okay palagi.”
A real golden legacy
For his longtime ace and captain Alyssa Valdez, if the sport’s first Grand Slam and seven PVL titles weren’t enough proof of Meneses’ greatness, then his 100th win should’ve already shut that debate down by now.
“Grabe si coach Sherwin. I’m with Coach Sherwin since Ateneo, other teams. We've been together for so long and it's just so nice na magkasama kami na na-achieve ni Coach Sherwin yung mga ganitong milestones,” said Valdez.
“These kinds of milestones also secured or polished also gaano siya katibay o gaano siya ka-effective as a coach and I'm just very grateful and blessed to be under his mentorship as well.”
