PETRO Gazz gifted Farm Fresh the No. 1 seed by besting PLDT, 25-21, 27-25, 23-25, 25-21, to close out the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference preliminaries on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Angels had to fight tooth and nail against the gutsy two-time champions, surviving a fierce High Speed Hitters stand that wiped out four of their seven match points after leading 24-17 in the fourth set.
But the 1-2 punch of Brooke Van Sickle and Lindsey Vander Weide, whose game-winner marked her 35th point of the night, proved to be more than enough in Petro Gazz' herculean takedown.
BVS erupted for a 27-point, 15-dig, 14-reception triple-double, backing up LVW’s conference-best 35-point outburst built on 32 attacks, two aces, and a block.
Jonah Sabete chipped in 12 points, while MJ Phillips added 10 markers.
Bang Pineda also delivered a defensive blast with 23 digs and 10 receptions.
In the end, the Angels made a massive jump from eighth to fifth in the standings heading into the knockout quarterfinals, where they will once again face Creamline — the same matchup they drew in last year’s import-laced playoffs.
No dial tone for PLDT
Even after a 27-point, 17-reception Savi Davison explosion, PLDT seemed to have missed a beat in its final match of the prelims despite coming in with four straight wins.
Russian spiker Anastasiia Bavykina was a steady force on both ends for the High Speed Hitters with 21 points and 15 receptions. The Taft tandem of Kianna Dy and Mika Reyes led the team's local front with eight and seven markers, respectively.
