IN over a decade playing volleyball, Petro Gazz star Brooke Van Sickle is about to experience an international tournament for the very first time come the 2025 AVC Women’s Champions League in April.

Years of domestic experience as a college baller in the United States — both indoor and beach — and now in the Philippines paved the way for her first taste of action against some of Asia’s champion clubs.

“With the team, we’re very excited to represent the Philippines. It’s truly an honor. I never played in an international competition before,” Van Sickle said.
“I feel like this is gonna be really an eye-opening for me and I’m really excited to see good volleyball and see how other teams play.”
The Angels have been drawn in Pool B of the 12-team conclave which features Chinese Taipei’s Taipower and 2024 Hong Kong Women's Volleyball League champions Hip Hing.

A top two pool play finish would send Van Sickle & Co. to the knockout stage in which the two finalists will earn coveted slots to the 2025 FIVB Women's Volleyball Club World Championship.
Before slugging it out with Asia’s finest, there’s still business left to be taken care of for Petro Gazz in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference as it begins its bid in the single-round robin semifinals.
To get past the first of a few more hurdles to capture the team's third PVL title is Van Sickle’s sole focus for now with the Angels.

“As of right now, we’re excited but we’re still in a conference so I don’t want to get too excited and too ahead of ourselves,” Van Sickle said.
“We still have games to play. When this conference is over, then we can fully focus (on the Champions League).”
