PETRO Gazz zoomed past cellar-dweller Capital1 in three quick sets, 25-11, 25-19, 25-14, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.
Brooke Van Sickle led the way with 19 points on 15 attacks, three aces and one block as the Angels bounced back from a tough five-set loss to Chery Tiggo.

"I'm proud of the team. Everyone contributed, everyone came in, everyone did a fantastic job and I'm just happy with how we're able to bounce back. Again, any team winning in three sets in the PVL, it's a good win," said Van Sickle.

"I'm just happy to bounce back and ready to get back in the gym and work hard 'cause we have a very tough team coming up (Creamline) so we gotta lock in."
Van Sickle had the lone double-digit scoring output of the match for either teams. But as both teams couldn't get their offense in full steam, the Angels' liberos Blove Barbon (nine receptions) and Jellie Tempiatura (nine digs) split defensive duties which held the Solar Spikers to just 20 attack points, two blocks and two aces in the one-hour, 20-minute contest.
Petro Gazz ace scorers Jonah Sabete and captain Remy Palma fired 16 combined points as the Angels rose to 5-2 (win-loss).
Meanwhile, Des Clemente paced a difficult game altogether for the 1-6 Solar Spikers with six attacks.
