CANDON CITY — Bella Belen came to her first PVL All-Star Weekend not just to play.
She also came here to play - in terms of recruitment, that is.
The Capital1 rookie turned heads upon arrival, spending time with the erstwhile Cignal core of Vanie Gandler, Erika Santos, Gel Cayuna, Jackie Acuña, and Dawn Catindig just a day after the Super Spikers announced their leave of absence.

Even at the welcome dinner, Belen was largely seen with the same group, sparking talk of a possible link-up down the line.
Asked about going into “recruiter mode,” Belen played coy, but did not exactly shut it down when asked by SPIN.ph.
“Ay, hindi ko po alam,” she said with a smile.
“Parang bagay sa kanila ‘yung blue, ‘yung [ganitong] shade ng blue, yellow tapos ‘yung uniform ko [sa Capital1], blue and yellow.
“Bawal po natin sabihin yan kasi maraming evil eye. Secret na lang. Tignan na lang po natin, pero hopefully.”

What she did not hide was the appeal of adding proven winners to the fold, fully embracing the prospect of possibly turning former Super Spikers into future Solar Spikers.
“Siyempre, experienced na sila eh. Nakakabot na sila sa finals, ganyan, so tignan po natin,” she said.
For now, it is all lighthearted. But in a league where moves can happen quickly, Belen may have just planted a seed.
