ATENEO star Bea de Leon seemed so sure of herself when she made an appearance as a guest analyst for the television broadcast of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) games on Wednesday.
But she wasn't as certain with regards to her fifth and final season with Ateneo.
The middle blocker, who was a rookie when the Lady Eagles won their last UAAP championship, remained undecided on whether she will play her fifth and final year with the Lady Eagles or not.
“Nothing naman as of now syempre kasi matagal pa naman ‘yung season,” said de Leon, pointing out that the next UAAP women's volleyball season is a good eight months away.
“So I also just wanna rest for a bit, medyo wala muna akong gagawing responsibilities and eventually naman I will make a sure decision regarding that question,” she added.
BDL remains non-committal even after the recent coaching change that saw longtime Ateneo men's coach Oliver Almandro take over the job vacated by Tai Bundit.
“Oo naman, syempre malaking factor ang incoming coach. Coach O as we know, legend din siya, he has done great things for the Ateneo men’s team and even with the other teams that he’s handled,” she said.
“So yeah, if ever man, syempre I would look forward to that,” she added.
She sounded more excited when asked about her new role as TV analyst for the match between Tacloban and Iriga-Navy on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
“Nakaka-nerbiyos,” she said. “Talagang ninerbiyos ako the whole time pero masaya siya actually. It was a great experience, it’s a new experience for me.”
Will she do it again?
“Well if the opportunity presents itself and I’m not too bad at it then why not, ‘di ba,” she added.
