AS a product of one of Philippine volleyball's most formidable college programs, Majoy Baron knows a thing or two about winning championships — having won three in a row with the De La Salle Lady Spikers.

And in her new home in the pros with PLDT, the former UAAP MVP will soon share the taraflex with a fellow champion Taft tower in Mika Reyes.

Reyes, together with Baron and fellow PLDT newbies Kianna Dy and Kim Fajardo, won the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball crown after two runner-up finishes to the then-emerging Ateneo Lady Eagles.

Part of becoming teammates once again is getting to look back and reflect on their glory days together as integral members of the dynastic Ramil de Jesus-led La Salle side.

In an exclusive chat with SPIN.ph, Baron shared how her time spent with the injured Reyes has been filled with reminiscence of their college championship days, as well as the 'super easy' transition she's had thus far with her new club.

“As of now, hindi pa namin masyadong nakakasama si ate Ye (Reyes) since nasa rehab pa siya. Pero kapag nagba-bonding kami, reminiscing lang [ng Season 78] and masaya,” Baron said.

”Actually, super easy lang [ng transition namin to PLDT]. Wala, hindi kami nahirapan. Ang bilis lang namin naka-adjust ni ate Kim (Fajardo). [Nakakatuwa] ’yung training, ‘yung bonding with my new teammates, and ‘yung environment na happy naman lahat ng tao," she added.

Although her first act with PLDT won't be with Reyes, Baron bared how her excitement already began to build from her very first day as a High Speed Hitter.

“Siguro ‘yung first day ng training, ‘yung parang bago lahat — new environment, new training venue, new teammates, new coaches, na-excite talaga ako nu’ng first day. Extra excited (na ngayon)," said Baron.
