BANKO and Ateneo-Motolite clash one last time in the semifinals on Sunday, with the winner earning a shot at the title against Creamline in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the Arena in San Juan City.

The rubber match of their best-of-three semifinals series is set at 4 p.m.

The Lady Eagles are seeking to keep their momentum from a dominant three-set victory after dropping a five-setter in the opener of the semis series.

“Game three, same thing. We will just be brave in everything we do, we will just be courageous in everything we do,” said coach Oliver Almadro.

“No matter what, beterano sila (BanKo), experienced sila. Sabi ko sa mga players ko they just have to be enthusiastic all the time, keep on learning para magawa namin ang gusto namin.”

Kat Tolentino, Maddie Madayag, Bea De Leon, Ponggay Gaston, Vanie Gandler and Deanna Wong have played back-to-back matches before and Almadro doesn’t see the any problem.

BanKo coach Dong Dela Cruz, meanwhile, said that it’s a wake-up call for his the Perlas Spikers after losing to the Eagles following three straight victories.

“Flat ang start namin, nabigyan ng buhay yung Ateneo noong start pa lang. Yung service reception and blocking namin late na namin na-adjust. Siguro, masyadong relaxed yung team,” Dela Cruz said. “Sabi ko sa kanila na hindi yan pupunta dito na ibibigay lang 'yung laro, talagang lalaban. Siguro, wake-up call sa amin ito.”

The Perlas Spikers mentor admits that his wards are not used to play back-to-back games but he believes that the experience of veterans Dzi Gervacio, Kathy Bersola, Nicole Tiamzon, Sue Roces and setter Jem Ferrer will prevail.

“Yun na nga. Medyo di sanay yung mga player namin sa back-to-back na laro. Siguro, ibang usapan na. Lalaban at lalaban kami,” Dela Cruz said.
