KATHY Bersola and Nicole Tiamzon led BanKo’s balanced attack to keep Chef’s Classics winless in four games, 25-19, 25-21, 25-16, in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference on Sunday at the Arena in San Juan City.
After a four-set loss to Creamline last week, the Perlas Spikers vented their ire on the new comers, Lady Red Spikers, to bounce back and win in just 80 minutes.
Bersola nailed 13 kills for 14 points to lead BanKo, while Tiamzon delivered 12 points off nine attacks and three aces as they improved with a 3-2 win-loss card at solo fifth place.
“Marami pa kaming kailangan i-adjust talaga kasi nagkakapaan pa nga kami kasi ang daming adjustments na nangyayari na may nadadagdag tapos may bagong players,” said Tiamzon. “Malaking tulong ito para mahanap namin yung chemistry talaga ng team. Magje-jell kami ng team.”
The Perlas Spikers Thai head coach Apichat Kongsawat had the luxury to rotate his whole roster with Ella De Jesus also playing instrumental with eight points and as many as digs. Dzi Gervacio and Sue Roces added five markers apiece, while setter Rem Cailing made the most of her first start dishing out 17 excellent sets and scoring seven points.
“It's really a good adjustment din para magkaroon ng exposure yung second six kasi kailangan namin yun para magkaroon rin ng kumpiyansa yung mga bata,” Tiamzon added. “It's not underestimating the other team but it's more of stepping up.”
Nieza Viray was the lone Lady Red Spiker to score in double figures with 13 points as they fell to 0-4.
