BANKO parades new import Sutadta Chuewulim after dropping Kia Bright as it battles defending champion Creamline on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at University of San Agustin Gym in Iloilo.
It is still unclear why Bright was replaced but a source told Spin.ph that Chuewulim, a member of the Thailand national team, arrived on Friday from Thailand and joined the Perlas Spikers in the trip to Iloilo.
The Perlas Spikers face the Cool Smashers at 4 p.m.
Bright played sparingly in the four-set loss to Petro Gazz on Wednesday, finishing with one point after averaging 16.2 points in the first round.
BanKo team members said it was ‘coach and management decision.’
Chuewulim, who played for United Volleyball Club in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, teams up with Yasemin Yildirim of Turkey in a team featuring Nicole Tiamzon, Kathy Bersola, Dzi Gervacio, Sue Roces and Jem Ferrer with other import.
BanKo Thai head coach Apichat Kongsawat is looking to steer the team to its third win in seven matches.
Creamline also has a Thai coach in Tai Bundit and import in Kuttika Kaewpin, with Venezuela’s Aleoscar Blanco and Alyssa Valdez.
The Cool Smashers are eyeing their fifth straight win after losing the tournament opener.
