BALIPURE made quick work of University of the Philippines, 25-13, 25-23, 25-17, on Saturday in the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
Katherine Morell scattered 24 points for the Purest Water Defenders.
Amy Ahomiro had nine points, while Kaylee Manns and Sue Roces added seven apiece.
The Water Defenders scored their third straight win after dropping their opening match against University of Sto. Tomas, while sending the Lady Maroons to the brink of elimination with a 2-4 card.
"We're very happy but we cannot be complacent," said BaliPure coach Charo Soriano. "Our main goal is to keep improving every game."
The Lady Maroons only showed resistance in the second set, staying within striking distance before the Purest Water Defenders took the frame behind Morell.
BaliPure continued to step on the gas in the third frame and raced to a 22-14 start, before an Isa Molde long error and a Roces kill sealed the win for the Water Defenders.
Diana Carlos paced the Lady Maroons with nine, while Joseah Thai had six.
