UNDERMANNED Bali Pure recovered from a poor start to beat Iriga, 18-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-21 on Wednesday in the Shakey's V-League Season 13 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Grethcel Soltones scored 22 points on 18 spikes and four service aces, Janine Marciano had 12 points and Amy Ahomiro added 11.

It was a big win for the Bali Pure squad that had only nine players present, with playing coach Charo Soriano, Bea Tan and assistant coach Alexa Micek in Cagayan for the Beach Volleyball Republic Invitational.

Jem Ferrer and Ella de Jesus also missed the match due to work commitment, while Alyssa Valdez, who arrived on Tuesday from Europe after a series of volleyball exhibition matches, was a no show.

Still the Purest Water Defenders bagged their second straight win after a loss in their opening match.

"Sa effort ng team kanina ibinigay nila ang 120% para manalo," said Bali Pure assistant coach Ato Toyco, who had to play defensive specialist Denden Lazaro as an attacker.
