POCARI Sweat team manager Eric Ty confirmed that Myla Pablo’s X-ray results showed the injury on the Lady Warriors spiker was nothing serious, but the team management wanted her to take a leave at least until the end of the elimination round of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.
The Lady Warriors top hitter sustained a back sprain and aggravated her back spasms after an awkward landing during their match against BaliPure on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.
She was immediately rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center and tests were performed to make sure she was fine.
“X-ray’s are okay pero may mga contu-contusion lang and na-aggravate ang back spasms,” said Ty. “(Now) she needs extensive rest and therapy.”
Pablo, according to Ty, insisted on playing on Saturday when Pocari Sweat faces Creamline.
“Her back is killing her but she is insisting on playing,” said Ty.
“She said she will play trough pain pero ang problema ayaw ko,” he added. “Sidelined na muna siya for now, balik na lang siya sa semis.”
The double round eliminations will end on May 25, while the best-of-three semifinals will start after the round-robin quarterfinals.
