ATENEO-Motolite dominated Iriga-Navy, 25-17, 25-19, 25-22, to secure at least a playoff in the semis of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Eagles copped their fourth consecutive win as they improved its win-loss record to 9-2 overall.
Rookie Vanessa Gandler led the way for Ateneo-Motolite with 12 points, eight digs and six excellent receptions.
“First of all hindi namin in-expect na aabot kami sa Final Four,” admitted Ateneo-Motolite coach Oliver Almadro. “When we joined this tournament we want (to gain) experience, I want them to learn the new system that I’m teaching them, hindi ganoon kadali kasi ilang months pa lang ako sa kanila.”
“Siguro what I’m giving them is ‘yung attitude na muna towards the game and towards trusting each other and trusting the system,” he added.
Nene Bautista and Grazielle Bombita each had 11 markers for the Lady Oragons, who slid to 3-9.
