The Lady Eagles and Lady Chiefs tangle at 4 p.m., with the winner seizing the early solo lead in Group A.
The reigning UAAP champions Lady Eagles trounced Adamson in four sets, while the Lady Chiefs completed a three-set romp against provincial team Southwestern University.
Alyssa Valdez, Michelle Morente, and A Ahomiro are again expected to take charge for Ateneo, while Arellano will lean on Menchie Tubiera, Danna Henson, and Cristine Rosario.
Also eyeing a second straight win is National University which takes on debuting University of Santo Tomas in the 2 p.m. curtain raiser.
Sisters Dindin and Jaja Santiago, both products of UST girls' volleyball team, along with Mina Aganon, Aiko Urdas, and Myla Pablo will carry the fight for the Lady Bulldogs as the team remains in search of a guest player.
"Kaya pa naman ng team na wala (guest player)," said NU coach Ariel dela Cruz. "Ang importante naman dyan, sa quarters eh dapat doon may import na kami."
Dela Cruz earlier said the Lady Bulldogs tried to bring in Thai setter Phomia Soraya as their import but the highly-sought player has prior commitment in Thailand.
The Lady Bulldogs are currently on top of Group B with a 1-0 slate in a tie with Far Eastern University.
UST, meanwhile, parades stalwarts Pam Lastimosa, Mela Tunay, Jessey de Leon and Ria Meneses as the school makes its first appearance in the tournament.
