PHILIPPINE Army bagged the bronze medal in the Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference, downing Philippine Air Force, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 25-15, on Sunday at the Arena in San Juan.
Rachel Anne Daquis scored 17 points, leading four other Lady Troopers who finished in double digits.
Conference Best Server Mary Jean Balse had 15, MVP Jovelyn Gonzaga came with 11, Nene Bautista also had 11 and Jacqueline Alarca ended with 10 as Army finished the tournament with a 12-3 record.
"Masaya pa rin kami kahit third place kasi maganda ang pinakita namin," said Army coach Rico de Guzman.
"Masaya ako kasi nakita ko ang aggressiveness nila kaya nakuha nila 'yung mga individual awards," he added referring to his players' achievements.
The Lady Troopers were the better defenders at the net, coming up with 14 blocks against 10 of the Air Women.
Army also registered more service aces, 8-2.
Iari Yongco came up with 19 points for Air Force, Joy Cases added 13 and Judy Ann Caballejo finished with 12 for the Air Women, who ended the tournament with a 7-7 win-loss card.
