PHILIPPINE Army ended its elimination round campaign in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 Open Conference on a winning note after beating Far Eastern University in four sets at The Arena in San Juan on Friday.

The Lady Troopers took an hour and 49 minutes to carve out a 25-15, 25-17, 26-24, 25-20 victory.

Rachel Anne Daquis had a team-high 16 points, while Jovelyn Gonzaga added 12 for the Lady Troopers, who finished with a 6-1 record going to the carry-over quarterfinals that begins Sunday.

But despite the win, Army coach Rico de Guzman wasn't satisfied with his players' performance.

“Hindi ako satisfied sa panalo namin,” said an obviously disappointed de Guzman.

The Army coach lamented the Lady Troopers’ poor third set showing when they could have finished the match, but instead, gave the set to the Lady Tams.

Bernadeth Pons and Mary Palma came with 16 and 15 points, respectively for the Lady Tamaraws, who ended their stint winless in seven games.
