NCAA titlist Arellano advanced to the quarterfinals, downing winless University of Batangas, 25-4, 23-23, 25-16, on Saturday in the V-League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Cristine Rosario scored 12 points, Menchie Tubiera added 10 and Jovielyn Prado chipped in nine for the Lady Chiefs, who improved their win-loss record to 3-1 in second spot behind undefeated early quarterfinalist Far Eastern University in Group A.
It was a quick win for Arellano, finishing the match in an hour and seven minutes, but coach Roberto Javier still wasn't happy.
"Di maganda ang laro kasi nag relax ang mga players ko," he said. "Alam mo kasi galaw ng team mo, hindi maganda 'yung game."
"Over confident na alam nilang kayang kaya nila ang kalaban," he added.
Krissa Madaligdog had nine points for UB, winless in four outings.
