ARELLANO University finally got back at Southwestern University after two long years as the Lady Chiefs made short work of the Lady Cobras, 25-15, 25-17, 25-19, on Thursday in the Shakey's V-League Season 11 First Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

It was just a tune-up match that SWU won over AU, but the Lady Chiefs felt they needed to even things with the Cebu champions.

“Nakabawi na rin kami sa kanila (Lady Cobras) kasi tinalo nila kami dati sa tune up game,” said Arellano coach Obet Javier.

Danna Henson and Cristine Rosario made 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the Lady Chiefs, who are now Arellano tied at with Ateneo for the early lead in Group A.

The Lady Cobras had poor reception, allowing the Lady Chiefs to score on seven service aces.

Marlyn Llagoso had eight points for SWU, while guest players Lutgarda Malaluan and Frances Derder added six and four, respectively, as the Lady Cobras missed a chance to take the solo lead and instead dropped to 1-1.
