FRESH off her double-double performance against Nxled, Ara Galang stepped onto the taraflex with a brand new 'do for the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference on Saturday.
Galang's fiery red hair done in a buzz cut caused quite a stir online, as it drew comparisons to Hanamichi Sakuragi, the beloved protagonist of Slam Dunk.
And make no mistake, Chery Tiggo's star spiker is welcoming being likened to the one and only Hari ng Rebound.
“Si Hanamichi kasi, alam mo yung palaban din kasi siya, 'di ba? Parang nag-start din siya nang wala. Paangat, hanggang sa na-build niya yung confidence niya,” she said after she and the Crossovers scored a second straight sweep.

“Saka kabataan ko yun, so nakakatuwa din na kita ko yung positive din yung tingin nila and 'di naman siya insult, so ok naman."

At the same time, Galang is having fun at the comparisons to Tots Carlos, another player well-known for her unique hairstyle.
“Red talaga yung gusto ko ever since, kahit nung sa F2 [Logistics] pa 'ko. 'Di ko rin sure kung hanggang kelan ko mati-tripan ‘to, mahilig lang din talaga ako mag-iba’t-ibang hairstyle," she said.
As for future hairstyles, the onetime La Salle standout is just excited to have all the choices in the world.
“Totoong meron akong ibang gusto, kaya lang parang hair tattoo siya. Marami akong gustong i-try talaga, pero inaano ko pa kung kelan and kung mama-match ba," she said.
