NEW Zealand national Amy Ahomiro will be eligible to see action in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference afterall.
The former Ateneo standout, who has been residing in the country for 10 years now, was given the green light to play in the supposedly all-Filipino tournament kicking off on July 1 after another tweak in the league rules.
The pioneering volleyball league earlier announced that its board has decided against allowing permanent residents to play in the Open Conference after the Power Smashers made a bid to field Thai player Patcharee Sammuang.

Now PVL president Ricky Palou said foreign nationals who are residents in the country for at least 10 years will be allowed to suit up.
“We will allow foreign nationals who are residents of the Philippines and holders of an ACR to play in our league,” said Palou said in a statement on Monday.
“However, we put a restriction. Only foreign players who have been in the residents and holders of an ACR for 10 continuous years will be allowed to play in the Open Conference,” added Palou.
The rule tweak will allow Ahomiro rejoin Perlas teammates Kathy Bersola, Nicole Tiamzon, Gizelle Tan, Jet Ferrer, Sue Roces, Mae Tajima and Sasa Devanadera.
Perlas’ first assignment will be against Air Force at 6:30 p.m. in the main-game of the conference opener after the match between Creamline and Adamson-Akari at 4:00 p.m.
