BANKO Perlas secured the second semis spot in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference, defeating Pocari Sweat, 27-25, 19-25, 25-16, 25-20, on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
Amanda Villanueva led the way with 22 points and 15 excellent receptions for the Perlas Spikers, who improved to 9-3 to join Ateneo-Motolite in the final four.
"I give credit to the girls gusto nilang pumasok na sa semis so siguro gusto na nilang manalo," said BanKo Perlas coach Dong dela Cruz.
The Perlas Spikers trailed, 8-15, in the second set but they regrouped immediately to finish off the match in four sets.
"Sabi ko lang sa kanila you just have to play their game, alam ko naman kung paano sila maglaro eh, kung maglalaro sila ng the best nila maganda ang result," said dela Cruz.
Dzi Gervacio had 12 markers and 10 digs for BanKo Perlas, while Kathy Bersola and skipper Sue Roces had nine points apiece.
Myla Pablo had an all-around game of 23 points, 13 digs and 11 excellent receptions for Pocari Sweat, which slid to 5-7.
Jeanette Panaga and Del Palomata also combined for 21 markers for the Lady Warriors.
