CREAMLINE superstar Alyssa Valdez was crowned MVP of the PVL Reinforced Conference, while PetroGazz import Wilma Salas was hailed as Best Foreign Guest Player on Saturday at the Arena in san Juan.
Valdez, named MVP of the Reinforced Conference for the second time, who was also named 2nd Best Outside spiker. Valdez averaged 12 points with a 35.77 percent efficiency. She also wound up as the top server with 23 aces and 0.68 ace per set and also finished 10th in digging with 2.24 digs per set.
Cuban import Salas was named Best Import, as expected after leading PetroGazz’s in scoring and winding up No. 2 in the league with 21.2 points per game, while also emerging as the most efficient spiker with a 47 percent attack rate.
Local top scorer Nicole Tiamzon of BanKo, who averaged 13 points per game with a 31.59 percent rate, earned the 1st Best Outside Spiker plum, while her teammate Dzi Gervacio was hailed as Best Opposite Spiker.
Creamline’s Jia Morado won her fourth Best Setter award since joining the club team in the 2017 Open Conference. She averaged 5.94 excellent sets per frame in the elimination round.
BanKo’s Kathy Bersola, who topped the blocking race with 29 kill blocks and 0.78 block per set, was awarded 1st Best Middle Blocker, while PetroGazz’s Cherry Nunag was named 2nd Best Middle Blocker with 15 kill blocks and 0.47 average per set in the eliminations.
Pacifictown-Army’s Angela Nunag was named Best Libero, winding up as the best digger at 3.76 and seventh best receiver with a 33.46 percent rate.
