DEFENDING champion Creamline ripped BaliPure, 25-19, 25-18, 25-23, on Wednesday to extend its win run to four matches in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez led the charge as the Cool Smashers beat the Water Defenders in one hour and 21 minutes for solo second place with a 4-1 win-loss record.
The five-time league MVP delivered 16 points off 12 kills and four service aces on top of 10 digs.
Kuttika Kaewpin had 11 points and Aleoscar Blanco added nine points.
Setter Jia Morado made 19 excellent sets on top of four points.
“For me, hindi naman maiiwasan na maging complacent siguro after getting two sets,” said Valdez. “Inisip namin na tapos na pero suwerte lang kami on the latter parts of the third sets, siguro yung breaks of the game. We adjusted rin sa third set against Bali Pure. Sa latter part, naka-adjust kami as a team.”
Alexandra Vadjova scored 17 points and made eight digs and eight receptions, while Danijela Dzakovic contributed 10 markers for BaliPure, winless in five matches.
Creamline will begin its second round against BanKo (2-3) on Saturday in Iloilo, while BaliPure faces another tough match in unbeaten PetroGazz (5-0) on Sunday at Imus Sports Complex.
