ALYSSA Valdez is hoping to raise a championship trophy in her home province as Creamline goes for a sweep of Ateneo in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference finals on Saturday at the Batangas City Coliseum.
“Minsan lang mangyayari yun. Hindi lang sa inspire it’s one way of giving back also na lahat ng mga nanggaling sa Batangas babalik at babalik talaga kung saan sila nagsimula,” said Valdez, who is from From nearby San Juan.
“I think we’re just happy na naseshare natin yung entertainment sa mas malayo, mas madaming tao which is going to Batangas,” she added.
It took only 67 minutes for the Cool Smashers to beat Ateneo in the series opener, but Valdez insists closing out the series won’t be a walk in a park.
“It’s really hard to close a match lalo na kapg finals, semifinals yung sa mga patapos na ng conference,” the four-time league MVP said.
“So I think going to game two, yung mindset lang talaga namin is to really fight we all know na hindi basta basta yun ibibigay samin.”
The former Lady Eagle also expects some Ateneo fans to watch the match.
“I think it’s a big factor also na meron kaming seventh man na maririnig,” said Valdez.
“Hopefully, madami ring pumunta para mawitness kung gaano kasaya at magenjoy sila sa Game Two ng finals.”
“Walang pressure pero sa Game Two talaga we’re just gonna go there play our hearts out, heartstrong, enjoy the game and good vibes,” she said.
