NOW that the Shakey's V-League is on a long break, Bureau of Customs skipper Alyssa Valdez wants his Thai teammates to experience life in the province.
The country's biggest volleyball star plays the role of gracious host during the team's three-day break by taking Kanjana Kuthaisong and Natthanicha Jaisaen on a tour of her hometown of San Juan in Batangas.
Taking advantage of the All Saints' Day break, the 23-year old hitter wants to make her foreign teammates' stay in the Philippines a lot more memorable through a quiet time in a beach somewhere.
“‘Yun nga eh, that’s sad for the Thai imports kasi may mga work and may mga school (kami) ‘yung natimingan nila na dumating (dito), compared pag summer na wala naman masyado ginagawa,” said Valdez.
“But kasi sila din tina-try nila i-explore ang Manila kasi they are near Manila and this coming Undas I’m gonna try to bring them sa bahay, sa Batangas, para they get to see also the province life, to breathe some fresh air naman,” she added.
“Kung may time talaga, gusto ko rin silang maikot man lang. Kasi bata sila so kailangan ipakita mo rin sa kanila ang beauty dito sa Philippines,” she continued.
Although BoC needs to prepare for the coming semifinals, Transformers head coach Sherwin Meneses and top hitter Valdez have agreed that they all need a quick break.
“Napag-usapan na namin ‘yan ni coach,” said Valdez. “And hopefully they enjoy their kind of break and ma-experience nila ang Undas here sa Philippines.”
BoC will resume practice on Tuesday.
