BUREAU of Customs scored a 25-17, 26-24, 25-15 victory on Saturday to hand University of Sto. Tomas its first loss in the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez scored 19 points, while Thai import Kanjana Kuthaisong added 16 points as Customs bounced back from a straight-sets loss to Bali Pure.
Customs improved its win-loss record to 3-1, while UST absorbed its first loss after four wins.
Thai import Natthanicha Jaisaen registered all BoC’s 44 excellent sets.
Customs also had 42 kills against UST's 27.
"Nag-usap kami about sa set plays, sila (Thai imports) kasi pagka crunch time na set plays pa rin, eh sa larong Pinoy pag crunch time na puro paluan na, eh may Alyssa ka pa so lamang ka na sa paluan," said BoC coach Sherwin Meneses.
Sisi Rondina rejoined the Tigresses after missing four matches, scoring eight points, while EJ Laure also had eight markers.
"Maganda ang chemistry nila as a team and makikita mo na it's team effort for them, 'di sila individually nagpapakitaan, nagtutulungan talaga sila. Ganoon naman talaga kapag galing sa UST," said Valdez.
