ALYSSA Valdez is pleased to be able to finally contribute to Creamline after seven months out due to a right knee injury.
She has yet to hit top form but the 30-year-old Valdez started to score in double digits for the Cool Smashers ahead of the PVL Invitational semifinals, getting a boost in morale after starting the tournament with measly outputs in limited minutes.

“It’s nice to actually play full games talaga and with this type of level of competition,” said Valdez, who scored 11 and 12 in the last two matches after coming up with a comobined seven points in the opening two matches.
Creamline swept its group, and will play in the six-team semifinals featuring guest teams Kurashiki Ablaze of Japan and Kinh Bac Bac Ninh of Vietnam.
“Alam naman natin na marami rin talagang pwedeng maglaro for our team, but I’m just really grateful for the opportunity so ‘pag pinapasok talaga [ako], I would want to really contribute to the team,” she added.
“Siguro I feel really happy since it’s been a while since I played full games pero ang dami ko pa talagang kailangang ayusin at matutunan ulit coming in, most especially sa very crucial matches coming into the semifinals kasi halos tuloy-tuloy na ‘yun eh,” Valdez explained.
“More than the skills, it’s also the condition if I will always last until the last set kasi nga it’s after seven months, ito na lang ulit full games ko and it’s really a motivation for me to do better every single game after every match na nakaka-double digits ako,” she added.
