CREAMLINE skipper Alyssa Valdez braces for a tough battle ahead as some of their key players will miss a couple of games in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.
Opposite spiker Michele Gumabao will be out for 20 days as she flies on Tuesday to Albania for the Miss Globe 2018 pageant, while libero Mel Gohing is still recovering from a throat infection.
“I think more than sa training it’s mind setting also kasi kailangan namin i-mindset na may mga mawawala,” said Valdez.
Cool Smashers coach Tai Bundit is expected to make use of all of the resources he has to fill in the void.
In their previous game against Tacloban, where they won in straight sets, the Thai mentor fielded 10 of his 12 players in the lineup.
Valdez feels that the veteran mentor will continue with that kind of strategy until their roster becomes complete again.
“Definitely si coach Tai naman pinaghahandaan din talaga niya ‘yung mga aalis talaga and kaya medyo nag-iinsert insert na rin si coach Tai (ng mga players) sa mga games,” she said.
“Kasi kailangan namin mag-jell sa iba naming teammates as well kasi ‘yung exposure sa iba nakakakuha din kami ng confidence and iilan na lang kailangan pa namin magkaroon ng chemistry as one team,” she added.
Creamline will face Iriga-Navy on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
