ALYSSA Valdez added to her burgeoning collection of trophies when she bagged the MVP award in the Shakey's V-League Reinforced Conference.
The former Ateneo star beat out rivals like Pocari Sweat's Michelle Gumabao to win her third MVP trophy in the pioneering volleyball league - and her first with Bureau of Customs.
Valdez, a three-time MVP during her college career and a Finals MVP twice in the V-League, was also named the Best Outside Spiker during ceremonies preceding Game Two of the finals between Customs and Pocari Sweat.
The 24-year old pride of San Juan, Batangas has now eclipsed the league record of two MVPs she previously shared with Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Mary Jean Balse, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Sue Roces.
Gumabao bagged the Best Opposite Spiker trophy while two Pocari Sweat teammates also won awards, with Iris Janelle Tolenada named Best Setter and Breana McKie named Best Foreign Guest Player.
Aside from Valdez's, Customs got another award courtesy of Lilet Mabbayad, who was named Second Best Middle Blocker.
Valdez's longtime teammate at Ateneo, Denden Lazaro of BaliPure, was named Best Libero while University of Santo Tomas got two awards - Second Best Outspiker for Ennajie Laure and Best Middle Blocker for Marivic Meneses.
