ALYSSA Valdez said Dindin Santiago-Manabat’s return was a huge boost to the NU Bulldogs, who scored a straight-sets win over Ateneo to force a rubber match for the V-League Collegiate Conference title.
“Dindin is one of the best in the country, presence niya pa lang it’s a big deal na,” said Valdez after the Lady Bulldogs scored a 25-19, 25-13, 25-21 in the second match of the best-of-three series.
Manabat wasn’t the top scorer, as sister Jaja Santiago topped that department for NU with 13.
But Manabat, who missed the series opener as she saw action for her Super Liga club Petron in an international tournament, also came up with 12 huge points to match Myla Pablo.
“’Yung composure niya and ’yung maturity niya really helps the team,” added Valdez.
But Valdez, MVP for the second straight conference, vows to bounce back after coming up with nine points.
“Life goes on eh hindi naman pwedeng matatalo ka, yes we have to accept we lost, we have to accept the defeat, pero we should improve pa we have something to learn pa,” she said.
“We have to push ourselves pa kahit sabay-sabay ang school stuff, we have to know our priorities,” she said.
