“These policies are designed to ensure orderly player movement, protect club rights, and maintain a fair and transparent system while supporting athletes who wish to serve the country through Alas," the PVL said.
"The PVL still remains steadfast in its commitment to strong governance, athlete development, and the continued advancement of Philippine volleyball.”
PVL Draft sole pathway to the league

The PVL emphasized that no athlete may join or even negotiate with any club outside of the draft mechanism.
The rule applies across the board, covering all aspiring players without exception as the league continues to standardize its recruitment process.
The move effectively shuts down any backdoor entries or direct signings, ensuring that all incoming talent goes through a centralized and regulated pathway. It is a firm stance aimed at leveling the playing field among teams while maintaining order in player distribution.
Club approval mandatory for Alas participation

Both current PVL players and draftees may be endorsed to the national team program, but only at the discretion of their respective mother clubs. This effectively gives teams the final say on whether their players can suit up for Alas Pilipinas.
The policy makes club approval a mandatory prerequisite, ensuring that any national team stint aligns with existing contracts and league regulations.
By formalizing this process, the league reinforces a structure where national duty remains possible, but not at the expense of club commitments.
Alas stint not an exemption from PVL Draft

Athletes who choose to prioritize Alas Pilipinas and skip participation in the 2026 Rookie Draft will still be required to go through the same process once their national team duties are completed.
The rule effectively closes any potential loophole that would allow players to bypass the league’s mandatory entry system, reinforcing that all aspiring pros must pass through the draft regardless of circumstance.
It also ensures that national team involvement does not create an uneven playing field, especially in terms of player distribution and recruitment among clubs.
PVL team owns exclusive rights to its drafted Alas player/s

Under a policy concerning players selected in the PVL draft who chose to focus on national team duty, their signing sights will belong to their mother teams for three years unless it is voluntarily waived after one year.
During that three-year period, the player is barred from negotiating with or playing for any other PVL club, effectively securing the drafting team’s claim while the athlete fulfills duties with Alas Pilipinas.
