Air Force bounces back, keeps UP spikers winless

PHILIPPINE Air Force got back on track in the Shakey's V-League Season 11 Open Conference with a 25-21, 25-22, 25-18 win over hapless University of the Philippines on Tuesday at The Arena in San Juan.

May Pantino and Maika Ortiz finished with 10 points apiece as the Air Women improved their win-loss record to 2-1.

Jocemer Tapic had eight points, while Jennifer Manzano and Judy Ann Caballejo chipped in seven each for Air Force, which bounced back from a four-set loss to Philippine Army on Sunday.

UP kept had seven blocks against six of Air Force and had five errors less than the Air Women (15-20).

But Air Force put up a huge margin in the other departments, with more digs (34-20), excellent sets (34-26) and better reception (19-14).

Kathy Bersola and team captain Nicole Tiamzon registered 11 points each for the Lady Maroons, who are winless in four outings.
