THE Air Force soared past Philippine National Police, 25-16, 25-22, 14-25, 25-17, in the quarterfinals of the Shakey's V-League Season 10 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.
Joy Cases and Judy Ann Caballejo led the Air Women with 24 and 17 points, respectively, as Air Force improved its win-loss record to 5-5.
Although the Lady Patrolers had more service aces, (9-5), the Air Women were steadier at the net, coming up with 10 blocks against six of PNP.
Thai reinforcement Patcharee Sangmuang produced 17 markers, while San Beda College standouts Frances Molina and Janine Marciano had 15 and 14, respectively.
PNP absorbed its fourth consecutive loss in the quarterfinals.
