AIR Force swept Vice Co., 25-14, 25-23, 27-25, to advance to the men's finals of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Friday at The Arena in San Juan.
Ranran Abdilla had a game-high 22 points for Air Force, which will meet defending champion Cignal in the best-of-three finals series starting on Sunday at the MOA Arena.
It will be the Jet Spikers and the HD SPikers’ fifth finals showdown in the last three years.
“Gumanda ang laro ni Ranran, then kasi noong second game namin hindi namin nabasa ang blocking nila saka ‘yung opensa,” said Air Force coach Rhovyl Verayo.
“So this time binago namin ang pattern ng offense namin lalo na sa open spiker saka sa blocking namin,” he added.
Bryan Bagunas and Fauzi Ismail also had 15 and 12 markers, respectively, for Air Force, which finished runner-up to Cignal last year.
Richard Solis made 10 points for Vice Co.
Cignal defeated PLDT, 25-23, 25-19, 33-31, in their own best-of-three semifinals series.
Former Ateneo star Marck Espejo led the HD Spikers with 22 points, 10 digs and 12 excellent receptions, while skipper Ysay Marasigan and Wendel Miguel contributed a combined 25 points.
Team captain John Vic de Guzman finished with 14 points for PLDT, which now plays Vice Co. in the battle for third.
