CRITICAL of the players’ display even in victory, Air Padda now tries to motivate the Adamson Lady Falcons after a huge loss.
Suddenly facing elimination after a dominant seven-match run, Padda urges the players to focus as Adamson absorbed a four-set loss to University of the Philippines in the opener of the semifinals in the PVL Collegiate Conference.
Adamson tries to stay in the tournament when they play UP again on Saturday, and Padda hopes they an avoid the huge errors.
The Lady Falcons squandered a six-point lead in the fourth set and allowed the Lady Maroons to complete the win.
“I feel like when things start going wrong in the court with our team, like whenever we face adversity, it’s like every one of them kind of panics,” she said.
“And then, by panicking and by thinking negatively, there was arguing in the court,” she added.
UP came up with a 9-0 blast to snatch the lead, 21-18.
Marian Buitre scored eight of the Lady Maroons’ last 13 points.
“It just leaves the opponent room to like slip away. While we’re trying to figure out things on our side, they’re racking up points,” said Padda.
“That’s something that our team needs to do though, fighting through adversity,” she added.
