ADAMSON University opened its campaign in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-16 win over University of Perpetual Help on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.
Eli Soyud led the way for Adamson with 17 points, while Chiara Permentilla added 13 and Bernadette Flora chipped in 12.
It was a solid start for the Lady Falcons who are now without top players Jema Galanza, Mylene Paat and Fenela Emnas, who have graduated, but head coach Air Padda was not convinced.
"Sobrang messy, you could definitely tell it’s our first game and it was really sloppy in my opinion," said Padda.
"Our defense was all over the place, our first ball was all over the place. I think our new setter MJ (Igao) was really, really nervous coming in to this game because she is a setter that's only been converted like 10 months ago,” he added.
Bianca Tripoli scored 12 points for Perpetual Help.
