ADAMSON University top hitter Jema Galanza was diagnosed with a ligament tear after the X-ray on Monday.
Galanza’s foot looked severely injured after she twisted her right ankle when she stepped on a teammate's foot after going for a block in the third set. The Lady Falcons were up 5-0 at that point, after winning the first two sets in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
She cried in pain when she was carried off on a stretcher to an ambulance waiting at the player’s entrance.
But as per Virtual Playground, Galanza’s handlers, the Adamson spiker is now okay and will be admitted overnight at Cardinal Santos Medical Center, where she was rushed after her scary injury.
“Baka possible tear daw ng ligaments, kaya need pa din mag conduct ng ibang test. May mga medications din na ibibigay,” Virtual Playground, Galanza’s management, informed SPIN.ph.
“She’s ok now, sabi ng doctor, aantayin lang mawala ‘yung maga. Good thing na-reduce agad habang bago pa lang at malambot pa,” added Galanza’s managers. “I-aadmit siya dito overnight until mawala ‘yung pamamaga. Then pag okay na, saka icoconduct mga test like MRI, etc.”
