RACHEL Anne Daquis admitted she is still finding her way in the Ateneo Lady Eagles' system in the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference.

The Ateneo guest player had 12 points in her debut as the Lady Eagles scored a straight-sets win over University of Santo Tomas, but admits the transition has not been seamless.

At one point, she nearly bumped into libero Denise Lazaro while trying to save the ball for Ateneo.

“Medyo nag-aadjust pa ako,” said Daquis in an interview after being mobbed by throngs of fans waiting for her outside the Ateneo dugout.

“Siguro kada game, kada practice, magiging maayos na,” Daquis added.

Ateneo head coach Roger Gorayeb had a fair assessment of Daquis’ game considering that he has just joined Ateneo practices four days ago.

“Hindi ganoon kaganda ang laro niya kanina,” said Gorayeb. “Ayos pa naman, pero offensively, hindi siya ganoon ka-effective. Sa depensa, maayos naman so na-offset naman.”

Daquis, however, was happy that despite the struggles, the Lady Eagles still came through with a win.

“Four days palang kami nagte-training pero naging ganoon ang result. More practice pa para maganda ’yung mga susunod na mga games,” said Daquis.
