DEFENDING champion Pocari Sweat is in the brink of elimination but head coach Rommel Abella is still hoping that Krystal Rivers can still play in their do-or-die match in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena.
The Lady Warriors will be up against the Power Smashers in Game Three of the best-of-three semifinals but the American import, who has been in the country for more than a week, could only watch from the sidelines.
Pocari Sweat and Power Smashers will face at 6:30 p.m.
“No word yet kay Krystal,” said Abella when asked regarding Rivers’ International Transfer Certificate.
“(Pero) umaasa ako na makakalaro siya,” he added.
In case Rivers’ ITC will not arrive on or before Thursday, Abella remains confident with his team's chances with American hitter Michelle Strizak, local veteran Myla Pablo, Cai Nepomuceno and Desiree Dadang leading the charge.
“But we have to work with we have sa roster,” he said.
Although fatigue has taken its toll on the Lady Warriors, the team will go for one last push.
The team will go back to the basic of reception before it could execute an attack.
“Still, (we have to work on) reception,” said Abella. “We have to be more committed sa receive and lessen our errors pa din.”
