RIVAL coaches’ pre-tournament assessment of the PVL Reinforced Conference field has eased the pressure on Rommel Abella as Pocari Sweat tries to defend the title.

He actually agreed with the five other coaches that there is no clear favorite after the lineups were revealed ahead of the tournament.

The Lady Warriors have tapped Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, Jessey de Leon and Jeanette Panaga to join holdovers led by Myla Pablo as they try to retain the title without former skipper Michele Gumabao.

“Medyo na-relieve lang ang konting stress knowing that we are not tagged as the team-to-beat,” said Abella.

Also suiting up for the Lady Warriors are a 6-foot-1 outside hitter Michelle Strizak uf the US and 6-foot-3 middle blocker Edina Selimovic of Bosnia.

Elaine Kasilag, Gyzel Sy and Melissa Gohing, Desiree Dadang and Cai Nepomuceno are back to see action for Pocari Sweat, which faces the Power Smashers in the opener on April 30 at The Arena in San Juan.

“From the start kahit we are the defending champions we treat each team equally,” said Abella.
