PLDT Home TVolution - Air Force scored a three-set victory over Estetico Manila to keep a share of the lead in the men’s division of the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference at the Astrodome Sunday night.
Ranran Badilla had 16 points from 12 spikes, one block, and three service aces in the Power Attackers’ 25-20, 25-20, 25-20 win over the Phoenix Volley Masters.
The victory was the second straight in as many games for the defending champion which tied Cignal on top of the standings.
All but one player fielded by coach Jasper Javier scored at least a point for PLDT, with Jeffrey Malabanan adding nine points, and JP Torres and Ron Jay Galang with eight and seven, respectively.
"SI JP malaki ang naging contribution niya sa amin, may eight points siya, pero ang blocking niya napakalaking bagay para sa amin," said Javier about Torres.
Still, Javier rued the Power Attackers’ lack of killer instinct.
"Sa tingin ko kulang pa, 'yung killer instinct nila sa laro nawawala. Pag ang laki ng lamang mag-rerelax," said Javier.
None was more obvious during the third set when the Power Attackers allowed a four point lead to slip away as the Phoenix Volley Masters tied the match at 15-all.
But Air Force took 10 of the last 15 points to seal the victory.
Jeffrey Jimenez finished with nine points for IEM, while Salvador Timbal Jr. and Kar dela Calzada chipped in eight and seven markers each.
The Phoenix Volley Masters remained at the second spot with an even 1-1 record.
