THE Philippines secured a spot in the next round of the 2023 AVC Challenge Cup for Men after winning its tournament debut over Macau, 25-21, 25-15, 25-14, at the Taipei Gymnasium on Sunday.
With only three teams in the Philippines’ pool, one win was enough to enter the final phase. Macau absorbed two defeats.

The Philippines, featuring Marck Espejo, Fil-American spiker Ryan Ka and La Salle's standout ace Noel Kampton, takes on Mongolia on Monday.
Both teams are through to the next round but will battle for seeding.
