With wins against Macau and Mongolia, the Filipinos took the top spot in Pool D and will compete in the tournament's knockout stages in two days' time.

The team featuring Marck Espejo, Ryan Ka and Steven Rotter join host Chinese Taipei, Australia, South Korea and Hong Kong in the playoff round.

Pool play runners-up Mongolia, Kazakhstan, India, Vietnam and Bahrain also advance along with either Saudi Arabia or Thailand.
