AFTER two five-setter losses, the Philippine national team got a favorable result this time as it held the Thailand U-23 to a draw, 24-26, 26-24, 25-16, 20-25, in their tuneup on Wednesday at Ramkhamhaeng University in Bangkok, Thailand.
Fifth set wasn’t played anymore as the Thai team requested to only play the friendly match in four sets.
It came as a blessing in disguise for the 10-woman Pinay spikers, who bowed to the Thailand national team on Tuesday and Thailand U-23 on Monday.
The team composed of Aby Maraño, Kalei Mau, Alohi Robins-Hardy, Ces Molina, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Majoy Baron, Mylene Paat, Roselyn Doria, Kath Arado and Dawn Macandili will take on Toray Arrows on Friday.
Toray Arrows, is the former Japanese club team of Dindin Santiago in the Japan V. Premier League.
Meanwhile, Alyssa Valdez, Jia Morado, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Eya Laure, Maddie Madayag are expected to arrive in Thailand on Sunday.
