THE Philippines will host the 2026 and 2027 editions of the Women’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
But unlike the last, it won’t be in Manila.
AVC and PNVF president Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara, who also serves as the concurrent FIVB executive vice-president, said the VNL tournament is set to be staged at the soon-to-rise SM Seaside Arena in Cebu later this year.
“For the next two years, 2026 to 2027, the VNL will be in Cebu, and it will be women,” Suzara said. “Pahinga muna natin ang men because the Men's World Championship is this year.”

Suzara, a Cebu native, looks forward to staging one of the world’s biggest international volleyball competitions before Cebuano fans.
“This is a big thing for us. Punta tayo lahat sa Cebu because we are building a new MOA Arena in Cebu,” Suzara said. “Alam niyo naman, the fans in Cebu are really crazy. They're very hungry.”
Asia will host seven FIVB world championships across various age groups and genders in Thailand, Indonesia, China and Australia.
The highlight will be the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship from Sep. 12 to 28 in the Philippines where the country’s own Alas Pilipinas will be among 32 teams.
