Ced Domingo once again impressed even in a losing effort, ending up as the lone Filipina spiker to hit double figures in scoring with 12 points.
Go-to scorers Jema Galanza and Tots Carlos were limited to single digit output only with eight and seven points each, while Gumabao tallied nine.
Taipei's team captain Chang Li-wen led her team to a fifth-place finish after an explosive third set which saw her score nine of her 18 points off the bench.
Chinese Taipei dominated the Philippines in the spiking department, scoring on 51 attacks against the hosts' 39.

Regardless of the loss, team captain Jia De Guzman said he was proud to be part of a team that stepped up to fly the flag on short notice.
"Very proud talaga ako sa teammates ko kasi hindi talaga biro yung pinagdaanan namin," she said.
"Tuloy tuloy talaga mga laro namin sa PVL, binuhos namin lahat doon then late notice nga namin nalaman na we were going to step up for the Philippines in the AVC."
