Philippine volleyball team looks to salvage bronze after bowing to Thai Army in semis

Bagunas, Espejo and Co. try to claim third place in Thailand tilt

THE Philippine volleyball team bowed down to Thailand’s Army, 19-25, 21-25, 25-19, 19-25, in the knockout semifinals of 2019 Thailand Open Sealect Tuna Volleyball Championships on Monday at the Wee Sommay Gymansium in Sisaket.

Thailand Army overcame a third-set collapse, finishing off the Philippines to advance to the finals.

The Philippine team led by Bryan Bagunas and Marck Espejo still has a shot at bronze against the loser of the other semis match between the Royal Thai Air Force and Thai-Denmark Saraburi.

The battle for third place is on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
