AIRASIA halted its two-game skid as it turned back PLDT Home TVolution, 24-26, 25-19, 25-20, 25-18, on Sunday in the Philippine Super Liga All Filipino Conference at the Astrodome.

Team captain Cha Cruz came up with 19 points for the Flying Spikers, while Stephanie Mercado and Abi Marano added 17 markers each as the Flying Spikers grabbed third spot with a 3-2 record behind idle Petron (3-0) and RC Cola-Air Force (4-1).

Key players continue to miss AirAsia practice as they have regular jobs, but coach Ramil de Jesus was pleased to see his wards respond as they make adjustments on the fly.

“Actually hindi pa rin kami nakumpleto sa practice, pero 'yung adjustments namin gumana naman at ’yung mga players nag contribute,” said De Jesus.

“’Yung adjustment sa loob ng court ang importante, ang problema kasi namin ’di kalakasan ang service namin, at ’yung receive kailangan pa ma-develop," said de Jesus.

The Flying Spikers led by as many as eight points, 19-11, in the fourth set after a 10-4 run, but the Power Attackers came up with a 4-0 spurt to inch closer 15-19.

AirAsia scored six of the last nine points in the match to hand PLDT its third loss in five matches.

The Flying Spikers had 18 blocks against three by the Power Attackers.

Sue Roces had 16 points for PLDT, while Lou Ann Latigay made 11.
