THE Philippine national volleyball team overcame Saraburi Thai-Denmark, 22-25, 27-29, 25-18, 25-18, 26-24, to claim the bronze medal in the 2019 Thailand Open Sealect Tuna Volleyball Championships on Tuesday at the Wee Sommay Gymansium in Sisaket.
Marck Espejo showed the way for the Philippine team in the match that lasted two hours and 23 minutes, scoring 35 points on 27 attacks, five blocks and three service aces.
Bryan Bagunas delivered 24 points off 21 kills. Ranran Abdilla had 15 spikes and four blocks for 19 points, while Kim Malabunga added 12 markers with six of it coming from blocks.
It was a fine finish for the Philippines after losing in the semifinals to Thai Army.
The Filipino Spikers never wavered, with the decider taking 11 deuces and lasting 29 minutes.
